About the Beach

Karas is a unique and very beautiful swimming spot located near the village of Goupa, consisting of smooth, flat white rocks that drop directly into deep, emerald water. It is not a beach in the traditional sense, but the rocks are perfect for sunbathing and for jumping into the exceptionally clear sea. It is a favorite spot for locals and for those who enjoy snorkeling, as the visibility is fantastic and the rocky seabed is full of marine life and interesting crevices. The contrast between the bright white stone and the deep green of the water is visually stunning. There are no facilities or shade, so the experience is very simple and focused on the quality of the swimming. It is a fantastic place for a quick and refreshing dip in a setting that feels like a natural stone gallery. The energy of the area is quiet, clean, and very authentic.
