About the Beach

Katelios is a charming and very relaxed beach located in a traditional fishing village on the southeastern coast of Kefalonia. The shore is sandy and the water is very shallow and calm, making it one of the best choices on the island for families and casual swimmers. The village is famous for its excellent seafood tavernas that sit right on the waterfront, allowing you to enjoy a fresh meal with your feet almost in the sand. It is a well-organized and friendly spot that maintains a very local and low-key atmosphere despite its popularity. The area is also known for its environmental importance as a habitat for sea turtles.
