About the Beach

Poros is a very long and scenic beach located right next to the island's main ferry port on the eastern coast. It is a mix of pebbles and sand, offering incredibly clear and deep blue water that is characteristic of the Ionian channel. The beach is lined with a variety of traditional cafes and tavernas, giving it a very authentic and lively village feel. It is a great place to swim while watching the large ships and small fishing boats move in and out of the harbor. Because it is so long, you can always find a quiet spot even during the busiest parts of the summer. The surrounding mountains are steep and green, providing a dramatic backdrop to the sea.
