About the Beach

Lepeda is a very charming and distinct beach located just a few minutes from the town of Lixouri on the Paliki peninsula. It is famous for its unique orange-red sand and the impressive limestone rock formations that frame the bay. The water is shallow, warm, and very clear, making it an ideal choice for families and those who enjoy long, relaxed swims. It is well-organized with a traditional taverna and a small cafe, providing a friendly and local atmosphere without being overly crowded. The views across the Gulf of Argostoli toward the mountains of the main island are spectacular, especially in the soft morning light. It is a very accessible and comfortable spot that offers a more intimate and traditional experience than the larger resorts. The contrast between the vibrant red sand and the blue sea creates a very memorable and warm aesthetic for a day by the water.
