About the Beach

Limni is a unique and very charming destination located on the western coast near the village of Karavas, essentially a small coastal pond separated from the sea by a thin strip of pebbles. The name "Limni" means "lake," and it perfectly describes this quiet and very protected swimming spot where the water is calm and still. It is surrounded by lush vegetation and tall trees, creating a very fresh and green environment that is rare for the Cycladic-like parts of the island. The sea just beyond the pebble barrier is very clear and deep, offering a more traditional swimming experience for those who prefer the open water. It is an unorganized and very peaceful spot, attracting those who enjoy nature and a "back to basics" atmosphere. The sense of enclosure and the sound of the water against the rocks create a very restorative and private sanctuary for a long morning swim.
