About the Beach

Lygia is a tiny and very secluded cove located on the northeastern side of Kea, tucked away between the larger bays of Spathi and Sykamia. It is a very private spot that is mostly accessible by boat or a long hike, making it one of the quietest places on the entire island. The beach is pebbly and the water is a deep, transparent blue that is perfect for snorkeling around the rocky edges of the bay. There is no organization, no shade, and no commercial activity, providing a true sense of escape for those who find it. The surrounding landscape is rugged and typical of the dry Cycladic hills, offering a stark and beautiful contrast to the bright sea. It is an ideal destination for adventurous travelers who value solitude and want to spend a day in a place that feels completely untouched by modern life.
