About the Beach

Xyla is one of the most beautiful and iconic beaches on Kea, featuring a wide stretch of golden sand and small pebbles on the northwestern coast. The water is exceptionally deep and clear, with a brilliant blue color that is visible from the road as you descend toward the bay. While it has become more popular in recent years and now offers some sunbeds and a small beach bar, it still manages to feel very spacious and natural. The entry into the water is relatively steep, which is great for those who enjoy a vigorous swim. It is located at the end of a long dirt road, giving it a sense of being a destination in its own right. The sunset views from Xyla are spectacular, as the sun dips directly into the Aegean in front of the beach. It is a must-visit for anyone seeking high-quality water.
