About the Beach

Lykodimou is a stunning and very scenic beach located on the western coast of Kythira, famous for its wild beauty and the large cave that sits right at the edge of the sand. The shore is a mix of sand and pebbles, and the water is an intense, transparent blue that is perfect for snorkeling along the rocky coastal edges. Because it faces west, it is one of the best places on the island to watch the sunset, as the sky turns vivid colors over the open Ionian Sea. The beach is partially organized with a small canteen that offers basic refreshments, but much of the area remains raw and natural. The road to reach it is winding and offers breathtaking views of the rugged western cliffs.
