About the Beach

Mavrospilia is a stunning and very wide sandy beach on the western coast of Kimolos, famous for its dramatic rock formations and the best sunset views on the island. The name means "black cave," referring to the dark sea caves found along the nearby cliffs. The water is a brilliant turquoise and is very shallow and calm, offering a perfect environment for a relaxing swim. There are no facilities or umbrellas here, which helps preserve the raw and natural beauty of the Cycladic landscape. Massive rocks rise out of the sea just off the shore, creating a unique and photogenic backdrop.
