Megali Vlychada Beach is a large and majestic coastal stretch located on the northern coast near Tholaria nestled at the base of a deep and verdant ravine. The landscape is characterized by its impressive scale and the high surrounding mountains that are often capped with clouds providing a sense of grandeur and isolation from the rest of the island. Because the trek to reach the shore is long and demanding the environment remains entirely primitive and untouched with the surrounding vegetation consisting of wild herbs and Mediterranean shrubs. The bay is open and expansive offering a raw and powerful connection to the sea where the natural geological features of the northern coast are displayed in their most significant and undisturbed form.
