About the Beach

Megas Potamos Beach is an expansive and wild coastal stretch located on the eastern coast of Anafi situated at the mouth of a large and arid ravine. The landscape is defined by its impressive size and the surrounding high mountains that create a sense of grandeur and total isolation from the islands main settlements. Because the area is difficult to reach and lacks any form of commercial organization it remains one of the most primitive and silent destinations on the island. The surrounding environment is a mix of rocky terrain and low Mediterranean bushes where the scale of the landscape and the clarity of the horizon provide a raw and powerful connection to the Aegean wilderness.
