About the Beach
Prassies Beach is a remote coastal stretch located on the eastern side of Anafi near the base of the towering Kalamos monolith which is the second highest limestone rock in the Mediterranean. The landscape is dominated by the sheer verticality of the surrounding cliffs and a stark primitive environment that feels completely disconnected from the islands few settlements. Because the area is largely inaccessible by road and lacks any form of commercial development it offers a sense of total isolation where the massive scale of the rock faces defines the visual experience. The surrounding geography is rugged and mountainous with low Mediterranean scrub clinging to the arid slopes providing a raw and powerful connection to the islands unique geological history.
