About the Beach
Tis Grias to Pidima Beach is perhaps the most iconic and photographed natural landmark on Andros located on the southeastern coast near Korthi. The landscape is dominated by a massive and solitary vertical rock pillar that rises dramatically from the sea just a few meters from the shore which according to local legend resembles an old woman jumping. The area is framed by high and steep limestone cliffs that isolate the beach from the rest of the island providing a sense of prehistoric wonder and total seclusion. Access involves a descent down a steep rocky path ensuring that the environment remains wild and unorganized and the sheer scale of the stone formations creates a dramatic and unforgettable coastal scene.
