About the Beach
Vathy Pigadi Beach is a remote and rugged cove situated on the southeastern side of Agathonisi at the end of a long dirt path. The shoreline consists of small pebbles and coarse sand surrounded by high rocky cliffs that protect the bay from the strong Aegean winds. The waters here are exceptionally deep and clear making it a preferred location for snorkeling and underwater exploration. Its name refers to the deep well that was traditionally used by local shepherds in this arid part of the island. There are no facilities or trees at this beach so it remains one of the most primitive and quiet coastal spots on the island.
