Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church of Falls Church, Virginia has been ministering to Orthodox Christians in Northern Virginia for more than fifty years, serving the communities of the Washington metropolitan area from its home at 3149 Glen Carlyn Road, just under seven miles from the nation's capital.

The parish is dedicated to Saint Katherine of Alexandria, the third-century martyr whose feast day is celebrated on November 25. Born to a noble family in Alexandria, Katherine was celebrated for her extraordinary beauty, wealth, and learning. When the Emperor Maximinus gathered philosophers to dispute with her and refute her Christian faith, she silenced them all with her eloquence and converted many of them to Christianity. Refusing to renounce Christ or submit to the emperor's will, she was martyred in the year 305. Her relics were taken by angels to Mount Sinai, where the famous monastery bearing her name has preserved her memory for nearly seventeen centuries. Saint Katherine's courage, intellect, and fidelity to Christ have made her one of the most beloved martyrs in the Orthodox world.
