Getting from Aegina to Skiathos

If you are heading to Skiathos from Aegina you are making your way to an island in the Sporades group, in the northern Aegean. It has over 60 beaches and a lively harbour town with some of the clearest water in the northern Aegean.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Aegina to Skiathos. The most practical ferry approach is to take the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus, which takes around 40 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes, and then travel by road to Agios Konstantinos or Mantoudi in Evia for the Sporades ferry to Skiathos, which takes around 1 hour 15 minutes to 3.5 hours depending on the port. Agios Konstantinos is around 2 hours by road from Athens and Mantoudi is also around 2 hours via the Chalkida bridge into Evia.

Getting there by air

Skiathos has its own international airport with connections from Athens. Taking the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Skiathos takes around 40 minutes in the air. Total travel time is around 4 to 5 hours.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus and fly to Skiathos. It is the fastest and most practical approach. If you are travelling with a car, take the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus and drive to Agios Konstantinos or Mantoudi for the ferry to Skiathos.
