Getting from Agistri to Skiathos

If you are heading to Skiathos from Agistri you are making your way from a small pine-covered island in the Saronic Gulf to the most cosmopolitan of the Sporades group, in the northern Aegean. It has a lush green coastline, an international airport and some of the finest sandy beaches in the northern Aegean.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Agistri to Skiathos. Getting there means taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, which takes around 55 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes, and then traveling by road to Volos or Mantoudi in northern Evia for the ferry to Skiathos. From Volos the crossing takes around 1 hour 25 minutes to 2 hours. From Mantoudi the crossing takes around 1 hour 15 minutes. Volos is around 3.5 hours from Athens and Mantoudi around 2 hours.

Getting there by air

Skiathos has its own international airport with daily connections from Athens. Taking the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Skiathos takes around 40 minutes in the air. Total travel time is around 4 to 5 hours.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and fly to Skiathos via Athens. It is the most time efficient approach. If you are traveling with a car, take the Saronic ferry from Agistri to Piraeus and drive to Volos or Mantoudi for the ferry across to Skiathos.
