Getting from Antipaxos to Kylini

If you are heading to Kylini from Antipaxos you are making your way from a tiny island in the Ionian Sea to a port town on the northwestern Peloponnese coast, on the opposite side of Greece. It has a long sandy beach and the medieval castle of Chlemoutsi nearby, one of the best preserved Frankish fortifications in Greece.

Take the ferry

There are no scheduled ferries from Antipaxos to Kylini. Antipaxos has no ferry port of its own and is accessible only by sea taxi from Gaios on Paxos. Getting to Kylini means taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Igoumenitsa and then driving south to Kylini via Patras, which takes around 3.5 to 4 hours from Igoumenitsa. It is a relatively direct route down the western coast of Greece.

Getting there by air

Kylini has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Antipaxos has no airport either. Taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Igoumenitsa and driving south to Kylini gives a total journey time of around 5 to 6 hours and avoids Athens entirely. Flying is not a practical option for this route.

Your best option

Take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Igoumenitsa and drive south to Kylini via Patras. It is the most direct and practical approach and avoids Athens entirely. If you are traveling with a car this route is straightforward down the western coast of Greece.
