Getting from Antipaxos to Mykonos

If you are heading to Mykonos from Antipaxos you are making your way from a tiny island in the Ionian Sea to the most cosmopolitan island in the Cyclades, on the opposite side of Greece. It has a maze of whitewashed lanes above the port, long beaches on the south coast and some of the best beach clubs in Greece.

Take the ferry

There are no scheduled ferries from Antipaxos to Mykonos. Antipaxos has no ferry port of its own and is accessible only by sea taxi from Gaios on Paxos. Getting to Mykonos means taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu, flying to Athens and then taking the fast ferry from Piraeus or Rafina to Mykonos. The fast catamaran from Rafina takes around 2 to 2.5 hours and is the most convenient option as Rafina is only 20 minutes from Athens Airport.

Getting there by air

Mykonos has an international airport with daily connections from Athens. Antipaxos has no airport either. Taking the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu and flying to Athens and then Athens to Mykonos takes around 40 minutes on the second leg. Total journey time is around 7 to 8 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos, the ferry from Paxos to Corfu, fly to Athens and then fly to Mykonos. It is the fastest and most practical approach. Book ahead in July and August as Mykonos flight spaces fill up fast. If you are traveling with a car, take the sea taxi from Antipaxos to Paxos and drive to Piraeus for the conventional ferry to Mykonos New Port.
