Getting from Crete to Antiparos
If you are heading to Antiparos from Crete you are going to one of the most relaxed and charming islands in the Cyclades, a small island with a Venetian kastro village, good beaches and an atmosphere that rewards those who stay overnight rather than visiting on a day trip from Paros.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Crete to Antiparos. The most practical approach is to take the seasonal direct ferry from Heraklion to Paros, which runs in summer and takes around 3 to 4 hours, and then cross to Antiparos from Pounta on the western coast of Paros, a 10 minute trip that runs every 20 to 30 minutes in summer. Outside of the summer season the connection goes via Piraeus.
Getting there by air
Antiparos has no airport. The nearest airport is Paros, which has daily connections from Athens. Flying from Crete to Athens takes around 50 minutes and then Athens to Paros takes around 45 minutes, followed by a taxi to Pounta and the short ferry to Antiparos. Total travel time is around 3 to 4 hours.
Your best option
Fly to Paros via Athens and cross to Antiparos from Pounta. It is the fastest approach and the connection is effortless. If the direct summer ferry from Heraklion to Paros works for your dates it saves the Athens connection and is worth taking.
