Getting from Rhodes to Arki
If you are heading to Arki from Rhodes you are making your way to a tiny island in the northern Dodecanese group between Patmos and Lipsi. It has no cars, no proper roads and an atmosphere of complete isolation.
Take the ferry
There is a direct ferry from Rhodes to Arki running a few times a week in summer and less frequently in winter, taking around 6 to 8 hours. The island is also connected through Patmos and Lipsi via local ferry connections. Check the schedule before planning around it as the frequency is limited and your travel dates need to align with the available departures.
Getting there by air
Arki has no airport. The nearest airports are Leros and Kos. Flying from Rhodes to Athens takes around 1 hour and then Athens to Leros takes around 50 minutes, followed by the ferry connection to Arki via Lipsi taking around 1 to 2 hours. Total travel time is around 4 to 5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Take the direct ferry if the schedule works for your dates. It connects the two islands without going through Athens. If the timing does not align, fly via Athens to Leros and take the local ferry across to Arki. Come entirely self-sufficient. The isolation is the whole point of being there.
