About the Beach
Agios Ioannis Beach is a very remote and rugged spot located on the island of Dokos, which is a place where almost nobody lives and there are no shops or big buildings at all. The beach is made of pebbles and big rocks and the water is an incredibly dark blue color that is so clear you can see all the way to the bottom from the deck of a boat. It is a very popular place for people on sailing trips to drop their anchors because the high hills protect the water and keep it very still, making it a perfect spot for diving into the deep sea and looking for old pieces of ancient pottery on the ocean floor. Since there are no roads or cars on the island, the only thing you will hear is the sound of the wind and the splashing of the waves, making it feel like you are a real explorer in a part of Greece that has not changed for hundreds of years while you enjoy the total silence and the bright Mediterranean sun.
