About the Beach

Skintos Beach is a hidden and beautiful bay on the uninhabited island of Dokos that is known for being very well protected from the wind by the high rocky hills that surround it. The water here is a brilliant turquoise color that looks like it belongs in a swimming pool, and it is one of the quietest places you will ever visit because there are no cars, no hotels, and no noisy crowds of people. Most people come here on private yachts to swim in the calm sea and go snorkeling around the underwater rocks to see schools of silver fish and colorful sea plants that live in the clean water. It is a very rugged and primitive landscape with low bushes and stone walls, and it is a great spot to feel like you are on your own private island for a few hours while you enjoy the bright Mediterranean sun and the peacefulness of the open ocean far away from the rest of the world.
