About the Beach

Agios Ioannis is a small and very quiet pebble beach located on the eastern coast, right next to a small white chapel of the same name. It is a very peaceful and traditional spot that offers a lot of charm and a sense of old-world Greece. The water is deep, cool, and exceptionally clear, making it a great place for a refreshing swim away from the crowds. Because it is a bit of a drive from the main village, it remains mostly unvisited by the younger crowds, attracting instead those who looking for silence and a natural setting. There are no facilities on the beach, but the surrounding landscape of stone walls and olive trees is very beautiful. It is a great destination for a low-key afternoon where you can combine a visit to the historic chapel with a long, quiet dip in the Aegean. The atmosphere here is one of total calm.
