About the Beach

Kolitsani is a small and very picturesque cove located just a short walk from the main village of Ios, yet it feels worlds away from the party scene. It is a sandy beach with turquoise water that is well-known for being a quiet spot where nudism is common and accepted. Because it is only accessible by a steep walking path, it remains much quieter than the nearby port and Mylopotas. The bay is well-protected from the winds, so the water is almost always calm and flat. There are no facilities or umbrellas, which helps preserve its natural and relaxed atmosphere. It is a favorite for those who want a quick escape from the Chora without needing a vehicle. The surrounding green hills and the clear, still sea create a very intimate and peaceful environment for a long afternoon swim.
