About the Beach
Ahladi Beach is a charming and small sandy cove on the southern coast of Syros, located near the village of Vari and about eight kilometers from Ermoupoli. It features fine golden sand and exceptionally calm, shallow water that is a shade of turquoise, making it one of the most family-friendly spots on the island. The beach is well-organized with sunbeds, umbrellas, and a popular traditional taverna that serves local delicacies right on the water edge. A unique feature of this beach is the presence of local ducks that often swim alongside bathers, adding a friendly and domestic touch to the scenery. The surrounding landscape is low and features several traditional houses and a small marina with moored fishing boats. The water is clean and safe, and the entry is very easy for children and elderly swimmers. It is a destination for those who want a simple and relaxed beach day in a scenic and traditional setting. The atmosphere is quiet and reflects the authentic rhythm of the island life. You can visit the nearby Cape of Agios Georgios to see historical carvings made by sailors.
