About the Beach

Vari Beach is a charming and very popular sandy shore on the southeastern coast of Syros, located within a well-protected bay just eight kilometers from the capital of Ermoupoli. It features fine golden sand and exceptionally shallow, clear turquoise water that remains calm for a long distance, making it one of the most family-friendly spots on the island. The beach is fully organized with many rows of sunbeds, umbrellas, and a wide variety of traditional tavernas and beach bars that offer a comfortable and social environment. Numerous tamarisk trees line the back of the sand, providing a generous amount of natural shade for families and those seeking a relaxed setting away from the commercial sections. The surrounding area is vibrant and features several guest houses and small hotels, providing a friendly and domestic backdrop to the sea. The water is clean and the entry is very easy and sandy for all swimmers, providing a safe and inviting spot for a day by the water. It is a hub of local activity and reflects the friendly character of the island community. The atmosphere is social and the beach is awarded the Blue Flag.
