About the Beach
Finikas Beach is a sophisticated and very popular sandy shore on the southwestern coast of Syros, located within a large and well-protected bay that serves as the island's second largest harbor. It features fine golden sand and exceptionally shallow, clear turquoise water that remains calm even during the windy summer months, making it a premier choice for families and yachting enthusiasts. The beach is well-organized with many rows of sunbeds, umbrellas, and a wide variety of traditional tavernas and modern cafes that line the coastal road immediately above the sand. Numerous large trees provide a generous amount of natural shade for those who prefer a more relaxed setting away from the commercial sections. The surrounding area is vibrant and offers a high-quality maritime atmosphere, with many small boats and yachts moored in the nearby marina. The water is clean and the entry is very easy and sandy for all swimmers, providing a safe and inviting spot for a day by the water. Access is exceptionally easy via the main island road and public transport from the capital of Ermoupoli. The atmosphere is social and reflects the modern spirit of the island life.
