About the Beach

Megas Gialos Beach is one of the most popular and expansive sandy shores on the southern coast of Syros, located about twelve kilometers from the capital of Ermoupoli. It features fine golden sand and exceptionally shallow turquoise water that remains calm because the large bay is well-protected from the northern winds. The beach is well-organized with many rows of sunbeds and umbrellas, and it is lined with numerous tall tamarisk trees that provide a generous amount of natural shade for those seeking a more relaxed experience.
