About the Beach
Ambeli is a small, quiet cove on the northwestern side of the island that feels a lot more secluded than the southern beaches. It’s a pebbly spot that you can reach via a dirt road or a hike from the village of Ano Meria. Because it’s tucked away, it doesn’t get as much foot traffic as places like Agali, making it a good choice if you’re looking for a bit more privacy. The water is turquoise and very clear, perfect for exploring the rocky edges of the bay with a mask. There aren’t any facilities or shops here, so you’ll need to bring your own water and supplies for the day. It’s a very simple, honest landscape where the focus is entirely on the sea and the surrounding cliffs. It’s particularly nice in the late afternoon when the light starts to hit the rocks.
