About the Beach

Agali is arguably the most popular and social beach on Folegandros, acting as a central hub for swimmers and hikers alike. It’s a beautiful, wide sandy cove surrounded by high, steep cliffs that protect the water from the strong northern winds. The water is a bright turquoise and stays relatively shallow near the shore, making it very inviting for everyone. What makes Agali great is the small community of tavernas and rooms that sit right on the rocks overlooking the sea, offering some of the best views on the island. It has a very laid-back, bohemian energy where people spend the whole day moving between the water and the cafes. It also serves as the main starting point for small boats heading to more remote beaches, making it a lively and essential part of the island experience.
