About the Beach

Katergo is widely considered the most spectacular beach on Folegandros, and one look at the water tells you why. It’s a long, dramatic stretch of pebbles and sand at the base of a massive cliff, with water so bright and clear it looks photoshopped. There is absolutely no shade and no facilities, so the landscape feels very powerful and untamed. Most visitors arrive by boat from the main harbor, and the view of the beach from the sea is one of the island’s most iconic sights. There’s a large rock sitting just offshore that people love to swim out to and dive from. It’s a place that demands you disconnect and just soak in the intense sun and the incredible shades of the blue sea. It’s rugged, beautiful, and the absolute highlight for anyone visiting the Cyclades.
