About the Beach
Areta is a remote and dramatic beach that is almost always visited by boat due to the massive, towering cliffs that surround it. These limestone walls drop straight into the sea, creating a very impressive and enclosed feeling once you are on the shore. The beach itself is made of medium-sized white pebbles, and the water is a vivid, electric blue. Because of the high cliffs, the beach loses the sun earlier in the day than other spots, so it is best to visit in the morning or early afternoon. There is absolutely nothing here but the rocks and the sea, which makes it perfect for those seeking total isolation. The snorkeling along the base of the cliffs is excellent, as the underwater rock formations attract a lot of small fish and sea life in the clear water.
