About the Beach
Yiali is a small and very bright cove located on the southern coast of Halki. The beach is famous for its bright white pebbles that make the water look like a glowing shade of turquoise. To get there, you can either take a boat from the main harbor or follow a challenging hiking path that winds through the island’s dry, rocky interior. The water gets deep fairly quickly and is exceptionally transparent, making it a great spot for a long, refreshing swim. Because the cliffs around the bay are so steep, they offer some natural shade in the early morning or late afternoon. There are no shops or tavernas here, so the atmosphere remains completely quiet and natural. It is an ideal destination for anyone who wants a simple, beautiful place to swim away from the main settlements.
