About the Beach

Ftenagia is a small, rocky beach tucked away right behind the main harbor of Nimporio. It is a favorite for many because it is so close to town yet still offers incredibly clear, turquoise water that looks like a swimming pool. The shore is mostly flat rocks and some pebbles, and there are several platforms where you can place a sunbed or a towel. There is a very popular taverna right above the beach, which makes it an easy place to spend the whole day moving between the sea and a table. The water is full of sea urchins and interesting fish, so wearing water shoes is a good idea if you plan on exploring. It has a very lively and social atmosphere, especially in the peak of summer, but it still feels like a classic, quiet Dodecanese cove.
