About the Beach

Trachia is one of the most visually striking spots on Halki because it is actually a narrow strip of land with the sea on both sides. This creates two distinct beaches back to back, so you can choose which side to swim on depending on the wind direction. The shore is a mix of sand and small pebbles, and the water is incredibly clear with a deep blue tint. Because it is located on a remote part of the island, most people arrive by boat, which keeps the crowds very small. There are no facilities or trees for shade, so the landscape feels very open and wild. It is a fantastic place for photography and for feeling like you are right in the middle of the sea. The surrounding terrain is rugged and rocky, providing a sharp contrast to the bright colors of the water.
