About the Beach
Argilos Beach is a very cool and unusual spot on the south coast of Crete near Xerokambos where the cliffs are made of a special kind of white clay that people use as a natural skin treatment. You will often see people covered from head to toe in gray mud because you can break off pieces of the cliff and mix them with seawater to make a paste that makes your skin feel super soft after it dries in the sun. The beach itself has very fine sand and clear shallow water, and because it is quite far from the big cities, it usually feels like a quiet and secret outdoor spa where you can relax and have fun getting messy with the natural clay.
