About the Beach
Maridati Beach is a secret little beach tucked away in a valley between the more famous palm forest of Vai and the town of Palekastro that most tourists never even see because it is at the end of a bumpy dirt road. It has big colorful pebbles instead of sand and the water gets deep very quickly, which makes it a great place for people who like to dive in and swim around the big rocks to look for octopuses and schools of fish. There is only one small family run restaurant there and a few trees for shade, so it is the perfect place to go if you want to escape the crowds and feel like you are on your own private part of the coast.
