About the Beach

Chiona Beach is a long and beautiful sandy beach near the town of Palekastro that is famous for having some of the best seafood restaurants in the whole region right on the sand where you can eat fresh fish while your feet are almost touching the water. The water is very shallow and clear, making it a nice spot for swimming even if you are not a very strong swimmer, and there are white sand dunes and green tamarisk trees all around it to give you some shade from the hot sun. It feels very relaxed and traditional, and you can even see the ruins of an old city on the hill nearby, so it is a mix of a great lunch spot and a cool place to explore with your friends.
