About the Beach
Chochlidia is the first beach you’ll see when you step off the ferry, as it sits right in the harbor of Karavostasis. It’s a very practical choice if you don’t feel like traveling far, with large pebbles on the shore and a sandy bottom once you get into the water. Because it’s right in the village, you have easy access to cafes and mini-markets just a few steps away. There are several tamarisk trees along the back that offer decent shade during the hottest part of the day. It’s a friendly, busy spot where you can watch the boats come and go while you swim. While it’s the most accessible beach on the island, the water remains surprisingly clean and keeps that deep blue color the Cyclades are known for. It’s a great home base for families who want to keep everything within easy reach.
