About the Beach

Frikes is a small and friendly pebble beach located right next to the traditional fishing village of the same name in northern Ithaca. The water is very clear and calm, making it a great spot for a quick swim after exploring the village or arriving by ferry. It offers a very local and authentic atmosphere, where you can watch the fishing boats and the daily life of the harbor from the water. The beach is unorganized, but because it is so close to the village, you have immediate access to several excellent tavernas and cafes. It is a very convenient and pleasant choice for those who want a beautiful swimming environment without having to travel far. The green hills and the traditional architecture of the area provide a lovely backdrop to the clear, blue sea of the northern coast.
