About the Beach

Skinos is a unique and very beautiful beach located in a deep, narrow bay near Vathy, surrounded by a dense forest of pines and cypress trees. The beach is narrow and pebbly, but the real draw is the calm, emerald water that looks more like a lake than the sea. The trees reach almost to the water’s edge, providing constant natural shade and a very fresh, forest scent. It is a very quiet and sophisticated spot that is popular with yacht owners and those who enjoy a more tranquil and lush environment. There are no beach bars or loud music, just the sound of the cicadas and the water. It is an ideal place for long, peaceful swims in protected water. The walk along the coastal path to get there is very scenic and offers a great look at the island's green interior meeting the blue sea.
