About the Beach

Gialos is the main beach located right next to the port of Ios, making it the most accessible spot on the entire island. It is a long sandy beach with very clear and shallow water that is perfectly protected by the harbor walls. Because of its location, it is very popular with families and those who want to be close to the shops, cafes, and hotels of the port area. It is well-organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, and there are plenty of trees along the back that provide some natural shade. Despite its proximity to the boats, the water remains clean and inviting. It is a great place for a morning swim before heading out to explore the island or for a final dip before catching a ferry. The atmosphere is friendly and busy, reflecting the constant movement of the port while still providing a beautiful place to relax.
