About the Beach
Karavostasis is the first thing you see when the ferry pulls in, and it’s a surprisingly great spot for a swim. Usually, port beaches are an afterthought, but here the water is incredibly clear and a bright, inviting blue. It’s a long stretch of pebbles and sand that runs right alongside the small seaside village. You’ve got the convenience of being able to grab a coffee or a fresh pastry from a bakery and walk thirty seconds to the water. It’s a very laid-back, easygoing place where the rhythm is set by the arrival and departure of the boats. Because it’s so accessible, it’s a perfect home base if you want a quick dip without having to plan a whole trek or boat ride across the island.
