About the Beach

Kitroplatia Beach is an unusual and very convenient beach located right in the heart of the town of Agios Nikolaos where instead of a long sandy path, the beach is bordered by a nice stone walkway and lots of busy cafes. It is a mix of sand and pebbles and the water is surprisingly clean and clear considering it is right in the middle of a city, which is why it has been given a Blue Flag award for so many years. It is a very social place where people go for a quick swim in the afternoon and then sit at the tables nearby to talk and drink juice, making it feel more like a town square that just happens to have a beautiful sea right in the middle of it.
