About the Beach

Lazareto is a unique swimming spot located on the tiny, pine-covered islet of the same name right in the middle of Vathy bay. You can reach it by a very short boat ride or even a long swim if you are experienced. The "beach" is actually a series of small pebbly entries and flat rocks surrounded by a dense forest of trees that reach the water's edge. The water is calm and very clear, offering a very different perspective of the town from the center of the harbor. There is a small, historic chapel on the islet that adds a sense of quiet and mystery to the location. Because it is an island within a bay, it feels very secluded and private despite its central location. It is a perfect spot for those who want a short adventure and a quiet swim in a very green and peaceful environment.
