About the Beach

Mnimata, often spelled Minimata, is a lovely and very accessible beach located just a few minutes' drive from the main town of Vathy. It is a narrow stretch of pebbles tucked into a deep, protected bay that is famous for its lush greenery. The trees reach almost to the water's edge, offering excellent natural shade and a cool, fresh scent to the air. The water is very still and shallow, which makes it a top choice for families or anyone who prefers a gentle swimming environment. There are no facilities on the sand, so the vibe remains low-key and natural. It is a very popular spot for locals to take a quick dip after work or for a relaxing afternoon close to town. The contrast between the deep green of the forest and the bright blue of the sea is very striking and beautiful.
