About the Beach

Palionisos Beach is a beautiful and secluded bay located on the northeastern coast of Kalymnos, at the end of a long, winding road that offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The beach is composed of small white pebbles and is framed by steep, rocky hills that keep the water exceptionally calm and flat. Because of its sheltered position and the clarity of the sea, it is one of the island's premier spots for swimming and snorkeling, and it is also a very popular destination for yachters who anchor in the protected cove. The area has a very traditional and remote feel, with a few small tavernas nearby that serve fresh, local food right by the water's edge. It is a perfect choice if you are looking for a peaceful, natural escape that feels worlds away from the busier western villages.
