About the Beach
Pelagaki Beach is a hidden gem and a very peaceful coastal sanctuary on the northeastern coast of Zakynthos, located just next to the more famous Xigia sulfur springs. It features a shore of small white pebbles and fine sand with crystal-clear turquoise water, surrounded by high white cliffs and lush Mediterranean vegetation that provide a sense of total privacy. The beach is entirely unorganized and maintains a raw, pristine character, offering a quiet alternative for those who want to avoid the crowds and the strong scent of the nearby springs. It is a destination for nature lovers and adventurers who appreciate the silence and the sound of the sea against the rocks in a rugged and secluded setting. The water is deep and fresh, providing an invigorating environment for a long swim away from the modern resort hubs. Access is via a relatively steep and narrow path that winds down the cliffside, which helps keep the atmosphere quiet and respectful even during the summer. There are no commercial facilities or trees for natural shade, so you must be prepared with all your own water and supplies for the day. The atmosphere is serene and reflects the natural power of the coast. It is a part of the island.
