About the Beach
Plaka Beach is a famous little spot made of big smooth white stones instead of sand, and it sits right across from the spooky island of Spinalonga which used to be a place where sick people were sent a long time ago. The water here is incredibly clear and looks like bright green glass, making it one of the best places to go snorkeling to see fish hiding among the rocks. After you swim, you can walk right into the tiny village to see the fishing boats or eat at a restaurant that sits so close to the sea that the water almost touches your feet.
